Measures to increase the availability of substitutes for post primary schools for 2021/2022

The Department of Education has published Information Note SD 0002/2021, Measures to increase the availability of substitutes for post primary schools for 2021/2022 The note sets out arrangements that have been put in place to assist with the availability of substitutes until the February 2022 mid-term break, when it will be reviewed. Click here to downloadIn addition, the Department has published Information Note 26/2021, Temporary Covid-19 emergency substitution arrangements for Post Primary schools.The temporary, voluntary arrangement will allow teachers already working in schools to provide substitute cover in addition to the maximum number of 22 hours teaching a week.
