Following representation from TUI, the Department of Education and Skills has issued an information note (TTC 001/2019) confirming the removal of the substitution limits that apply to teachers on Career Break for the remainder of the 2019/20 school year.
A teacher who is on a Career Break may now be employed in a substitute capacity only, without the restrictions imposed in the Career Break Scheme as contained in Chapter 7 (Paragraph 8.1) of Circular 54/2019
