The TUI Credit Union is a service for saving and borrowing, usually by deduction from salary, offered to members of the Teachers' Union of Ireland.  It is run by a board of 13 directors elected at the AGM and is affiliated to the Irish League of Credit Unions.   Members borrow at a rate of 7.59% APR on the outstanding loan balance which is far less expensive than borrowing from the commercial lending institutions.  Since the Credit Union is a co-operative, any profits made are returned to the members by way of an annual return.

Death insurance cover is free on members loans and savings.  A declaration of Health Form may be required.
