Students should not be disappointed if they did not receive a CAO offer today

The Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) today congratulated students who received a CAO offer. Those who did not yet receive an offer should not to be disheartened, the union said.

Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) President Gerry Quinn said:

“TUI congratulates students who have received CAO offers today. We wish them every success in their courses and careers of choice.  Those students who have not received an offer today should not be disheartened as there is still a chance that they will be offered their chosen course in the later rounds of offers.

Students should also bear in mind that hundreds of courses in the Further Education sector, particularly Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses - as well as being extremely valuable in their own right - represent a viable, alternative pathway to higher education and a chosen career.

Institute of Technology courses are a hugely important part of publicly funded higher education in Ireland. Institutes offer a vast range of courses to Honours Degree Level and beyond. They are also inextricably linked to the labour market needs of the local community and the projected national skills needs.”
