The TUI has successfully secured a change to the rostering of the S&S scheme for schools that have moved to a one hour timetabling model.

Heretofore schools who moved to a one hour timetabling model were still requiring teachers who are paid for full hours to be available for 5 class periods per week for substitution purposes.

These teachers are now only required to be available for 3 timetabled slots.

Teachers on fewer than full hours also benefit as follows:

  • Teachers working up to and including 12 hours class contact per week = Three 40-minute class periods or one 1-hour class period.

  • Teachers working more than 12 and up to and including 17 hours class contact per week = Four 40-minute class periods or two 1- hour class periods.

  • Teachers working more than 17 hours class contact per week= Five 40-minute class periods or three 1-hour class periods.
