To honour the memory of Bernie Ruane, the Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) established the Bernie Ruane TUI Bursary. The bursary was first awarded in 2021.
One new bursary is awarded each year to a Leaving Certificate student whose intention it is to pursue a career in post-primary teaching.
