TUI members voted to accept the Haddington Road Agreement by a majority of 54% to 46%, on a turnout of 65%. The decision was announced on September 20th 2013.

TUI acknowledged and welcomed the clarifications provided in a letter sent to the union  by the Department of Education and Skills. The letter addressed a number of matters that the union raised in relation to the implementation of the Haddington Road Agreement. Issues clarified include:

  • Substitution and Supervision
  • Establishment of an Expert Group on fixed-term and part-time employment
  • Review of usage of Croke Park hours
  • Alleviation arrangements regarding posts of responsiblity in schools
