Under the Haddington Road Agreement and as stated in Circular 0006/2014, participation in the Supervision and Substitution scheme is compulsory for all teachers, save for those who availed of the opt-out arrangement.
As a result, a gross additional payment of €1,592 is to be included in the Common Basic Scale for teachers in two moieties. The first moiety was included in the scale on 1 September 2016. Under Circular 54/2017, the second moiety of €796 will be included in the scale from 1 September 2017.
