Salary Scale for teachers appointed after January 2011
Teachers who held Department paid teaching positions subsequent to January 2011 are paid according to the below salary scale.

Teachers first appointed between 1st January 2011 and 1st February 2012 began on the 1st point of the post-2011 salary scale and progress incrementally with each year of service.

Teachers first appointed after February 1st 2012 begin on the 4th point of the post-2011 salary scale and progress incrementally with each year of service.

Part-Time Hourly Rates
1. Qualified casual hourly rate (incl. 22% holiday pay)  €40.10
2. Unqualified hourly rate (incl. 22% holiday pay)          €36.76
3. Qualified non-casual rate paid to teachers according to their own personal point on the incremental salary scale plus allowances divided by 735. This will give your own personal hourly rate. There is no additional payment for holiday periods as this figure includes 56% holiday pay.

Academic Qualifications
The maximum amount payable in total qualification allowances to a teacher who commenced a Department paid teaching position between 5 December 2011 and 31 January 2012 cannot exceed €4,426.

Teachers who were not in receipt of qualification allowances prior to 1st February 2012 are not entitled to any qualification allowances.
