Common Basic Scale for pre-2011 entrants

The salary scales on this website are those set out in the latest circular letters issued by the relevant Government Department. However, in some cases, there can be a delay between the publication of the circular letter authorising payment and the actual payment of the increases to members. Where delays occur, payment is backdated to the relevant date set out in the circular letter
 

Common Basic Scale for teachers who entered the profession before 1/1/11
 

These scales incorporate the 2.25% pay increase (or €1,125, whichever is larger) under the Public Service Agreement 2024-2026, effective from 1st January 2024.

Part Time Hourly Rates

Please note that 12% of the applicable rates will be removed to represent statutory annual leave entitlement of 4 weeks per year. Teachers will then be paid during the Christmas, Easter and summer holidays. Overall remuneration will not change.

1. Qualified casual hourly rate

From 01/1/2024

€51.61 + €7.04 (Rate + value of leave accumulated) 

2. Unqualified hourly rate (incl. 22% holiday pay) 

From 01/1/2024

€45,38 + €6.19 (Rate + value of leave accumulated) 

3. Qualified non-casual rate paid to teachers according to their own personal point on the incremental salary scale plus allowances divided by 735. This will give your own personal hourly rate. There is no additional payment for holiday periods as this figure includes 56% holiday pay. (Point on scale + allowances)/735
