Do you have a HPAL (Hourly Paid Assistant Lecturer) / Associate Lecturer CID?
If yes, it is of vital importance that you contact your TUI Branch Officers or Area Representative with the details requested below on or before the 18th of June 2014.

TUI is currently in negotiations concerning a conversion process under the Haddington Road Agreement which states: “The parties will put in place a process for the conversion of Hourly Paid Assistant/Associate lecturers. This process will in the first instance establish and agree those posts which are appropriate to be converted and thereafter, such posts will be converted over a period of three years commencing in or before the academic year 2014/2015. A person converted will be assimilated to the Assistant Lecturer payscale on the point nearest to and not below his/her current rate from the date of conversion. In the context of the above process, the provisions of Circular letter 93/07 will apply to Hourly paid/Associate lecturers.”
In the context of the above agreement and in order to best represent the interests of Hourly Paid Assistant Lecturers / Associate Lecturers who already have Contracts of Indefinite Duration, TUI requires the following details from these members:
- Name/address/email
- Contact telephone numbers
- Institute
- Number of hours in the Hourly Paid Assistant Lecturer / Associate Lecturer contract in each academic year since CID was obtained
- Number of hours held in the academic year prior to getting CID
