The special delegate conference held in September expressed a strong desire that the union would engage in discussions on the Public Service Agreement but the Department of Education and Skills refused to allow the union be involved in these discussions while industrial action continued. 

A decision has now been taken to ballot members on the temporary suspension of industrial action to allow the union to engage in discussions on issues related to the Public Service Agreement.

Details of the ballot, which is to be held as soon as possible, will be issued in the coming days.
