The third Consultative Conference on restructuring the union will take place on Saturday 28th February in the Garage Theatre, Monaghan Education Campus, Old Armagh Road. Monaghan. The conference will commence at 10 o’clock and finished at approximately 2 o’clock. Branches are requested to send the names of two nominations who will attend this conference to Jane O’Sullivan by Wednesday 18th February.

Whilst this consultation conference is a vehicle for engagement, open discussion and exploration of emergent issues and concerns, it does not have a decision making function.  The contribution of delegates will provide valuable insights into potential options and assist in the process of considering and designing the organisational structure that will serve the interests of the membership.  As provided for in rule and normal practice, delegates to either a Special Congress or Annual Congress will have the final decision on restructuring.

As part of TUI’s regional strategy for holding events the Executive has chosen the Garage Theatre as the venue. This is a brand new venue, situated on the site of Monaghan Education Campus just a short distance from Monaghan town centre. The campus itself includes the Gaelscoil Ultain, Colaiste Oiriall and Monaghan Institute. Officially opened on December 5th 2013, the venue hosts a wide range of performances, including theatre, music, comedy, traditional arts, schools’ performances and conferences. The theatre has a café, bar and studio space which is fully equipped with a full lighting rig and sound system and can accommodate up to 90 theatre style and 40 board room.
