Students should remain hopeful even if CAO offer not received today

The Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) today congratulated students who received a CAO offer but advised those who did not receive one to remain hopeful.

Speaking today, Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) President Joanne Irwin said:

“We congratulate students who have received CAO offers today and wish them every success in their courses and careers of choice.  However, those students who have not received an offer today should stay hopeful as there is still a chance that they will be offered their chosen course in the later rounds of offers.

In terms of options, there are hundreds of cutting-edge options in the Further Education sector, particularly with regard to Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses. As well as being extremely valuable in their own right, these represent a viable, alternative pathway to higher education and, ultimately, a chosen career.

Meanwhile, Institutes of Technology offer a vast range of courses to Honours Degree Level and beyond. These courses are also inextricably linked to the labour market requirements of the local community and the projected national skills needs.”
