Clarification
Following some queries from members and retired members TUI wishes to clarify that union policy does not support the idea that retired personnel should not be eligible for contract work. It is, however, mindful that as a public body the SEC has to make reasonable efforts to offer contracts of work to unemployed and substitute teachers. TUI notes also that in all its discussions with SEC the Commission has been conscious of the need to be fair to all applicants and has been open to the views of the TUI on these matters.
