Significant victory regarding qualifications allowances

By piofficer, Friday, 26th October 2012 | 0 comments

The TUI and the other teacher union have secured a successful outcome to our joint campaign to have qualifications allowances paid to those teachers who had commenced their courses of further study before the announcement in Budget 2102 (on 5th December 2011) that the total value of qualifications allowances was to be capped at the value of the Primary Degree (Honours) allowance.

It was confirmed at the Teachers’ Conciliation Council that the teachers affected will have their qualification allowances honoured and will not be limited by the cap imposed by Budget. This welcome decision applies to courses of study that attract allowances.
