During July, representatives from TUI and INTO and officials from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and the Department of Education and Skills engaged in a series of meetings to fully scope out the issues involved regarding pay arrangements for newly qualified teachers.
Meetings took place on the 5th, 14th and 26th of July. This engagement is taking place within the context of both unions’ acceptance of the Lansdowne Road Agreement, and having regard to the recent agreement in respect of fire-fighters in local government.
The parties agree that the process to date has been productive and should continue with further meetings in August.
