Job-sharing is the sharing of a wholetime teaching post between two permanent teachers/lecturers or, one permanent teacher/lecturer and one or more teachers/lecturers engaged to teach the remaining 11 hours in a Temporary Whole-Time, Pro-Rata Contract, or part-time capacity.

The second level scheme is set out in Circular Letter 18/98.

The latest date of application for the scheme for teachers who wish to job-share is March 1st of the previous school year.
