The general election takes place on Friday 25th February
In recent times we have endured a banking crisis, an EU/IMF bail-out and the introduction of savage austerity measures which have had devastating effects on the education sector and our wider society.
Election Day is your chance to have your say on what type of society you want. The only way to have your say is to make certain that you are registered to vote – but time is running out.
You must be registered by Tuesday, 8th February next to vote in this Election.
Visit www.checktheregister.ie and ensure you are registered to vote in the place where you will be on polling day, Friday, 25 February and please encourage your colleagues to do the same by posting the attached poster in staff rooms and schools and visiting www.tui.ie which sets out in more details how you can go about registering.
Your vote matters and it will make a difference. Have your say on how our country achieves better education and childcare as well as fairer taxation, basic income for all, better healthcare and local amenities.
Please make sure you are registered to vote and that whatever else you have planned for Friday, 25 February, make sure you get out and vote.
