TUI seeks urgent clarification on teacher training college announcement

By TUI, Wednesday, 5th September 2012 | 0 comments

Responding to the publication of today’s report on the structure of teacher training colleges, TUI General Secretary John MacGabhann said:

“TUI will be seeking urgent clarification and discussion on the possible ramifications for our members in Institutes of Technology who could be affected by this mooted restructuring.

Clearly, industrial relations procedures must be adhered to in any process.

In the current economic circumstances, the geography of provision needs to ensure equity of access and we would caution against any move that might limit this.

We also believe that the restructuring would have very significant cost implications in terms of the transferring of facilities. ”
