"Investment in education is critical to the economic recovery of this country.What is required is further investment in all sectors of education. TUI will vehemently oppose any cutbacks in the pay budgets of VECs and Institutes of Technology."

Ms Annette Dolan Deputy General Secretary of TUI commenting on the cutbacks announced today by the Minister stated that :

"Any cutbacks affecting VECS will negatively impact on the education of the most vulnerable sections of the school going population. We will not accept any such cutbacks. "
